Why write?

Not much positive has been happening lately. I don't want to fill this space with negative. So I'm trying to keep writing because an old saying I heard in college is 'to be a better writer, you have to write regardless if it is anything'. Or something along those lines.

My plan always has been to fill this space with our homestead adventures trials and disappointments. For a while we had a great place to homestead on my parents land in a trailer house in their yard. But our lives clans jobs changed and we moved on. Back to apartments and small urban homestead things. Then a farm of our was in sight and plans were made but denied. So tiny house and small town urban dreams were our next choice. It is still unclear what will happen but again it seems we won't be buying a house. I'm coming to see this. Yet it makes it difficult for me to write when nothing is happening on our homestead front. But I will try to continue to post when I have something interesting.

Windows

I'd like to cosy up on the love seat eating ice cream sandwiches and drinking rum spiked hot chocolate with marshmallows. Instead I'm going to be a mom and play run around the living room my three year old, wipe boogers off the baby and dream about our tiny house.

Most importantly today I'm excited about the windows. We'll have so many. Prior apartments have been corner units. So that we can open the windows in each room and hope for a breeze. The future tiny house has windows everywhere except the north end of the house. By still a big window in every room. The bathroom one is going to need that plastic film to 'frost' it. I don't want to cover all the natural light. Not sure how we'll deal with the other windows in the house. Probably remove the mini blinds, since they remind me of cheep rentals.

What are you dreaming about?

Bummed

I'm bummed. House buying says you get a closing date when you create and sign the purchase agreement. Well the bank told us yesterday that there is no way we will close in two weeks. Have to wait for the appraisal on Dec 5. Then probably a week or two after that. So maybe we'll be moving before Christmas.
.
Gearing up for our first winter storm. Bought milk & eggs. All set to be stormed in for a few days if necessary. I love a good blizzard.

Lots of waiting

Buying a house is full of waiting. Wait for seller, wait for inspection, wait for seller again, wait for bank, wait for appraisal, and more paperwork. That's all I know folks. We are waiting. Hope to be moved in before Christmas.

Aquarium Garden

Living in the north I find I need light and greenery all winter. House plants never seem to do well - cat locks them down or they just die. So I've discovered a love for aquarium plants. Even in this time of housing upheaval- my brother let me set up my small aquarium at his house.
Specs: 16 gallon, quartzite gravel, 20 inch LED blue and white lightning. Wood and lots of plants four or five varieties. Three fish and two red shrimp

Life is funny

Haha life says nope you can't have a big farmstead yet. Bank said nope the farmstead needs way too much work we won't give you the loan. So we have started over in a house search. Deciding to wait on finding a farm and knock out student loan debt by getting a small (tiny) house in town.
Work is in progress on purchasing a tiny house if 700 square feet on a double lots aprox 100x150 feet lot size in a small town in Minnesota. Stay tuned for more details.
